The sport of boxing was riding high after the McGregor vs Mayweather fight. There was a whole lot of hype leading up to it, and it could have back fired. The fight could have been horrendous, but it wasn't. It was entertaining. So I'd be willing to bet there were a lot of people who checked out the GGG vs Canelo fight, because the McGregor vs Mayweather fight was that entertaining.

Unfortunately for those people, after a rather entertaining fight, they got to see why boxing has been on the way out for years. Two judges scored the contest relatively close, and you had one judge go completely off the reservation and score it a way that no one saw it. One man saw this as a problem, even before the fight started. Chris Mannix...

One judge scored the fight 115 to 113 in favor of GGG. The second judge scored it a draw at 114 to 114. But Byrd somehow had the fight in favor of Canelo 118 to 110. That means she had Canelo winning 10 of the 12 rounds. What a joke.

So where does boxing go from here? A GGG/Canelo rematch? That's the most likely scenario. But who is going to pony up the kind of cash for the pay-per-view if this is a likely result? Not me.
