Craft beer lovers get excited, there TWO news brewpubs coming to town!

Craft breweries have become a staple in many beer loving cities, with beer aficionados flocking to enjoy their favorite brew. Long gone are the days of simply grabbing a Bud Light, beer lovers now want something with more elements to the taste. From Green Tea IPA, Grapefruit Shandys and everything in-between, craft beer brewing has become immensely popular in the United States and around the world.

Sadly, there haven't been any breweries in El Paso since Jaxon's closed their doors, and you'd have to travel to Canutillo or New Mexico to visit one of their fine establishments. We have some amazing bars in El Paso that offer a great variety of different beers, like Hoppy Monk, Craft and Social, Steve-O's and Blackbird Cantina but now we have two new craft breweries that have their TABC approval, but are in the process of finishing to open.

Deadbeach Brewery

Deadbeach Brewery will be located downtown at 406 Durango Street, near the Union Plaza Entertainment District. Downtown El Paso has been growing and Deadbeach is ready to be apart of the vibrant, growing culture. One of the owners of Deadbeach is Gabe Montoya, who got his start brewing with Jaxon's over 7 years ago. Safe to say you're beer loving tastebuds will be good in his hands. There will be 24 beers on tap: 12 of their own making, plus 12 "guest" brews. This way they can have different breweries bring in their beer for a limited time on tap. As for their opening date, owner Montoya said "once we have beer in the tanks, we should be soon, we'll be bale to provide an actual opening day." You can read from Deadbeach Brewery in Fusion Magazine.

Ode Brewing

Ode Brewing will be located at 3233 North Mesa, by UTEP in the same parking lot as Cabo Joes. One of the owners Albert Salinas talked to KLAQ about why he wanted to open a brewpub. Salinas has been brewing for about 8 years, and has always wanted to open a brewery. They will have 12 beers on tap, and will only serve their own beer at Ode. Food will be available and the menu will be concocted by Norbert Portillo, owner of Tabla restaurant downtown. The fact that Norbert is making the food makes me even more excited for this brewpub to open! He's the man that brought me goat cheese and sweet onions. If you haven't had that deliciousness at Tabla, you're missing out.
