Check Out El Paso’s New Mascot

“Hi! I’m Barry the Orange Barrel! While visiting El Paso you’ll be seeing a lot of me…and my thousands and thousands of relatives! I show up on Interstates, on busy streets and on lots of on and off ramps that you wish you could take. You’ll see me plenty no matter where you go in El Paso. There seems to be road construction going on all over. Heck, you’ll even see me blocking roads where no construction is going on. I’ve been blocking a ramp on Executive and I-10 that doesn’t look like they’re even thinking about working on any time soon!

You’ll get used to me, though. Although you can rarely go above 5 mph where me and my friends congregate you should still be extra-careful! On very rare occasions there actually might be a crew of workers nearby and you wouldn’t want to run over them while they’re lying down taking their naps! “
