The celebration of horror continues throughout October, and I've been getting some great horror movie suggestions. Here are some more really good ones.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 15 – Stigmata

Gabriel Byrne is always good. It pretty much doesn't matter what he's doing, whether it's his role in The Usual Suspects, playing the Devil in End of Days or playing the priest with problems in Stigmata. This is a film that gets overlooked by people for whatever reason, but it's got some good creep to it. Check it out.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 14 – Audition

Back to the Asian extreme stuff for day 14. There are some absolutely insane movies out that you really have to see. They'll do stuff over there that theater-goers here in the US would probably freak out over. This is a creepy movie. What else can I say? Even the main character isn't good. It's nice when things go south for him, really.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 13 – Thir13en Ghosts

This is a fun movie, it's not incredibly scary, but it has some cool scary bits in it, as well as some humor and odd behavior in it. Mostly from Scooby Doo and Scream alum Matthew Lulliard, who plays a medium who sees dead people. It's not as fun for him as it is for people in other movies. The main focus is on Tony Shalhoub and his hot-as-hell daughter Shannon Elizabeth as they move into their new house and discover what has been trapped in the weird place with them.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 12 – Hellraiser

Clive Barker scored a few great scary movies early on in his career, with the fantastic Lord of Illusions, and of course, the movie that pretty much launched his career, Hellraiser. This movie shocked people when it came out for it's themes and content, all which I love. It seared into people's memories words and images for things like Cenobites, the Lament Configuration puzzle-box, and mostly Pinhead.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 11 – The Devil Inside

Okay, I'll stand up and admit it. I'm a sucker for exorcism movies. The possession stuff is cool and scary. Ever since I saw The Exorcist, I've been interested in these kinds of films. The Devil Inside is one of the newer films that people complain tries to outdo The Exorcist, but it's still a great creepy movie. Yes, you've seen a lot of the tricks in the film before, but it doesn't stop them from being effective in building scares.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 10 – Insidious

Insidious is sort of a recent film, that has some really good spooky moments to keep the creep-factor pretty high throughout the movie. The story revolves around a family, who's child has some funky experiences and then goes into a coma. Or so they think. There are a bunch of weird things that happen, some glimpses of something scary and building strangeness. I like the psychological scary stuff.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 9 – Nine Dead

We're nine days in, so what better time to present a movie a lot of people probably haven't seen. It's a mystery/horror film where nine people wake up in a room after being kidnapped. They're chained in the room together where a masked man tells them they have to figure out why they're all together in this room, and every ten minutes he'll return and kill one of them until they're all gone. If they figure it out before, they get to go free.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 8 – The Hand

Let's continue my 31 days of horror festival with a great movie that not a lot of people know about, or have forgotten about. I remember watching this as a kid with my friend Michael, and getting totally creeped out! It might have been the first time I saw Michael Caine and remembered who he was after. Great movie, lots of psychological scares, and an ending that leaves you to make up your own mind.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 7 – Deathwatch

Sometimes I just browse through Netflix and look at movies I've already watched to see what other movies they'll recommend that are "similar" to them. Let's not get into a discussion of how they're recommendation software works. I've seen some really weird suggestions. But one movie popped up a couple of times, and so I finally hit play and watched it.

31 Days of Horror Films for Halloween Day 6 – Lord of Illusions

Clive Barker was working really hard early on in his career to take Stephen King's horror throne, and had a string of great books and movies. Hellraiser was just the first great movie, but one of my favorites that often gets overlooked is a really creepy flick with Scott Bakula from Quantum Leap.
