According to the El Paso Times, there have been 5 car-jackings in El Paso since March 17th alone. The latest happened in the Lower Valley where a woman was not only car-jacked but, kidnapped as well.

A passing EPPD police car saw the woman hanging out the passenger side door but, when officers turned around, the suspect escaped on foot. The initial theft took place around 9:30am, in a grocery store parking lot. Another attempt began with a breakdown. When someone offered the stranded motorist a ride, their car was jacked. Other incidents have occurred in the Northeast, the Westside and twice on the Eastside.

Clearly, these jerks aren't worried about location or time of day so, keep your guard up! Weapons, including a shotgun, have been used in these cases so be alert folks. Police advise everyone to lock their doors and not sit idly in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings also and, if someone flags you down for help, just call the cops.
