An attentive bus driver saved a 3-year-old from a kidnapper.

The 3-year-old was taken from a northern California library and an alert was issued. About 45 minutes later, bus driver Tim Watson noticed a man and boy who fit the description. What really tipped him off was a tear in the little boys eye.  That's when Watson said his paternal instinct kicked in and, thinking fast, he invented a story about looking for a missing backpack so he could pull over and call police.  The cops were waiting at the next stop and snatched the boy from the kidnapper's arms as he exited the bus.

Watson said:

"I started asking passengers about a missing green backpack. What I'm trying to do is get to the perpetrator. I feel I did what any father would do."
