The group started out entertaining at Los Angeles area VA hospitals and word spread, prompting invitations from other hospitals across the country.

Pin-ups on tour was founded in 2014 by Julia Reed Nichols. Nichols told the El Paso Times:

“I always had a love for vintage fashion and pinups and burlesque performance. In Los Angeles it was a popular thing for performers to do; you get to take the stage and use your artistic expression.” “My dad was a captain in the Air Force; he was a pilot. I grew up in a military family and I have a deep appreciation for people who are called to serve. It’s a community I feel connected to. So I decided to try to connect the two things.”

The group will perform Thursday at 5 Points Bistro, 3019 Montana. Veterans and active duty military personnel get in free. General admission tickets are $20 ($25 at the door) and reserved seating tickets are $35 at pinupsontour.com.

The money they raise is used to fund their trips to veterans hospitals.
