Bulletin Warns Of Possible Attacks Against El Paso Police

CNN says state officials are warning that the Bandidos biker gang may be ordering "hits" on troopers and police officers around the state, including those in El Paso.  The network says the Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a bulletin, warning that the gang has obtained grenades and C-4 explosives.  The alleged threats are in retaliation for the Waco shootout in which nine bikers were killed.

Former School Board Member Sentenced For Child Porn

A former El Paso Catholic Diocese school board member is headed to prison.  A federal judge yesterday sentenced Victor Jerome Reza to ten years for downloading child pornography.  He has until July 20th to report to prison.

Overpass Foam Nothing To Worry About

If you're one of the people who've been calling about a mysterious white foam that's seeping out of the sides of a local overpass, the DOT says it's nothing to worry about.  They say the expandable foam was injected into the overpass to lift up sinking pavement.  They had crews out last night, cleaning up the excess foam.

El Paso Among "Most Affordable" Cities

El Paso comes in at number-98, in a new ranking of America's "most affordable" places to live.  The website "NerdWallet" says El Paso's overall cost-of-living is seven-percent below the national average.  On the other hand, El Paso's median household income is 20-percent less than the national average.

Texas Is Number Two For Barbecue

A new survey by TripAdvisor ranks Texas as the second-best state in the country for barbecue.  The ranking is based on several factors, including the number of barbecue restaurants each state has and the ratings those restaurants draw from customers.  The number-one barbecue state?  TripAdvisor gives that honor to Tennessee.
