Buckcherry’s latest disc is due out in September and we now know that it will be called ‘Confessions.’ Here’s another confession: the band is also planning to release a short film along with the new disc that they hope will eventually make its way to small film festivals.

Their new album ‘Confessions,’according to Buckcherry singer Josh Todd, is actually the soundtrack to the movie. Todd wrote the screenplay for it and recently talked to Oklahoma’s Z94 radio station about the details. “It’s based around the seven sins and true events that happened in my life as well, when I was younger,” said Todd.

As for who might play the leading role in the film, Todd shot down the idea of him starring in it, saying he already has a person in mind. Although he won’t be playing himself, he and his tattooed bandmates will appear in the film somewhere. Todd hopes the film will appeal to fans both new and old, saying, “I think it’s gonna be a real treat for people who love this band and people who are just discovering Buckcherry for the first time.”

Todd also weighed in on the direction of their new music, saying it’s a little bit different than previous releases. “It’s definitely a heavier, musically, record than we’ve ever had, and more melodic. It’s pretty intense, but everybody’s gonna love it.” He continued, saying, “It’s quintessential Buckcherry at the end of the day. But we have all those peaks and valleys. That’s what we want on all our records — dynamics — and I think people are gonna dig it.”

Buckcherry recently kicked off a run of tour dates with James Durbin and Redlight King; check out all the stops here.
