The idea goes back to 2013 and is now, finally, set to go into action next month -- a bike share program that could help anyone get around town easily.

According to an article in the El Paso Times:

The $720,000 program will roll out in early September and will include 80 bikes and eight solar-powered stations throughout Downtown and near the University of Texas at El Paso.

The program is similar to those in other cities where people can pick up a bike at one location, ride wherever they're going and return the bike at or near their destination. A two-fold plan easing traffic and pollution while promoting health and fitness. Plus you don't have to wait as you do for buses and cabs. The bike's there -- you rent it, and off you go!

The budget for the new program is made up of funds from the city of El Paso, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, UTEP and TxDOT. What do you guys think?
