Beto O'Rouke has been hitting the pavement and meeting as many Texans as possible to see what the issues are for the average Texans out there. He's visited all 254 counties in Texas to promote his platform and get inside the mind of a Texan voter. Over 7 million Texans voted as of this posting, which far surpassed the number of voters shown in 2014. There hasn't been a Democrat elected to a statewide office since 1994 and Beto gave his all but it wasn't enough for Texans to turn on the #bluewave.

Cruz overcame significant deficits in fundraising and enthusiasm to defeat O'Rourke in one of the most closely watched races in the country. At time of this posting, Cruz won with a strong 51% to O'Rourke's 48% which also looks like the Republicans will keep control of the house.
