A car with an autopilot feature crashed into a truck while the driver was watching a movie.

In Florida, (where else?), Joshua D. Brown just became the first person to die in a Tesla autopilot crash. A tractor trailer rig, turning left in front of him, was not caught by the autopilot system. The truck driver saw Brown watching the movie when they collided and an aftermarket dvd player was found in the Tesla with the Harry Potter movie still playing. The Tesla corporation said:

This is the first known fatality in just over 130 million miles where Autopilot was activated."

They also added that they "make it explicitly clear to drivers that the autopilot function is only an assist feature and still requires that the driver keep their hands on the wheel."
