Filter Heading to the Studio in April
Richard Patrick of Filter has confirmed that the band is heading back into the studio in April to start recording their new record, a follow up to 2010’s ‘The Trouble with Angels.’ They’ll be working with producer Bob Marlette whose impressive track record includes work with Black Sabbath, Saliva and Atreyu. The tentative title of the new disc is ‘Gurney and the Burning Books.’

James Durbin and Orianthi Perform Dio Classic at Benefit Show + More
American Idol rocker James Durbin and guitarist Orianthi recently teamed up to lend their talents to a great cause. On March 2 at Center Staging in Burbank, Calif. the two performed at a benefit for the Rock School Scholarship Fund. Rock School Scholarship Fund is a non-profit group that funds music lessons and provides instruments for kids 7-17 who want to attend any rock school nationwide, but whose parents don’t have the financial means.

Scott Reeder Comments on Lawsuit Against Kyuss Lives!
Yesterday we reported that former Kyuss members Joshua Homme (guitar) and Scott Reeder (bass) had filed a federal lawsuit against Kyuss Lives! claiming trademark infringement and consumer fraud over vocalist John Garcia and drummer Brant Bjork continuing to use the Kyuss name. In an official message released by the two they noted that this was not what they wanted to do but felt they were left with no choice but to take legal action.
