The Hammond Police Department are being sued by a couple, after using excessive force during a traffic stop. Lisa Mahone and Jamal Jones were pulled over on September 24, for not wearing a seat belt. When the officers asked for Mahone's identification, they also asked for her passenger, Jones, information. Jones didn't have a driver's license, so he reached over to the backseat to grab a paper with his information, but the police didn't accept it.
