Lions and tigers and bears oh my!Well, it's actually a mountain lion but thats close enough. And we have all heard of the cowardly lion but it seems like this bear may be the real coward. In Alaska, you have to be made of some seriously thought stuff to make it through the harsh winters and wild beasts that roam the land. Even if you're only a house cat.

Eagle River resident Darlis Elliott is used to having some wild creatures stop by her house. It isn't out of the ordinary for a black bear or moose to be seen in her front yard. She told KTUU,

"The bear came up our front drive way and walked around the house to the back. We were all kind of watching him as he came up the back porch and that's when Nani saw him."

Nani is Elliott's 2 year-old Savannah cat and she immediately crouched down and stared intently at the bear. She waited until he looked at the door and that is when she attacked. The bear was significantly larger than Nani, not to mention the glass door between the two, but the bear wasn't taking any chances. The bear got so scared he walked backwards and fell off the porch. Elliott seemed to think the cat scared off the bear for good, since they haven't seen that bear since. Cats may be made of stronger stuff than your dog.
