Americas High School Evacuated Over 'Suspicious Object'

Classes are set to resume today at an El Paso high school following an evacuation over reports of a suspicious object on campus. Authorities evacuated students and staff at Americas High School yesterday afternoon after someone reported the suspicious object. There's no word yet on what exactly that object was, but authorities say the campus is safe after performing an inspection.

Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Crash With Car

A motorcyclist is hospitalized with multiple injuries following a crash on Trans Mountain Road. The accident happened last night at Gateway North in El Paso. Police say the motorcyclist was involved in a crash with another vehicle and was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries. Details were not immediately available on the condition of the other driver.

Texas Puts Convicted Cop Killer To Death

A man who killed a Corpus Christi police officer during a chase is the latest person to be executed in Texas. Daniel Lopez was executed yesterday for slamming his car into Lt. Stuart Alexander in 2009. Lopez told execution witnesses he hoped his death would help his family and Alexander's family. He also apologized and said he was ready to go. Lopez is the tenth person to be put to death in Texas this year. Another execution is set for later this month.
