Huffington Post has a list of 7 bad morning habits. For the most part, I'm calling BS on this list, at least for me. Considering I do 5 out of the 7 and have no problem getting up at 3am, getting to work before 4, and being awake and energetic for the full 5 hours of the show. But anyway, here's their list.

  1. Hitting the snooze - I hit the snooze multiple times. I actually have three alarms set. One on my actual alarm clock, and two on my phone. And I hit the snooze at least once a day.
  2. Checking your phone before you get out of bed - I've found this actually helps wake me up. I turn on the phone to check sports, and any news that might have happened in the time I was asleep.
  3. Putting off exercise - I don't exercise in the morning. If I were to do that, I'd be up at 1 or 2 am. But I do work out during the day.
  4. Taking a shower that's too hot - I love a hot shower and haven't notice it does anything detrimental to me waking up and having a good day.
  5. Eating a breakfast high in carbs - This I don't do. I actually eat yogurt and a banana every morning. But I'm also eating a salad for lunch by 7am.
  6. Skipping breakfast - I used to skip breakfast all the time. I started eating breakfast on a regular basis a few years ago and now I have to have breakfast. If I don't I'm starving within an hour of getting up, to the point my stomach physically hurts.
  7. Forgetting to stretch - I don't stretch in the morning. Sometimes I do, but usually I stretch after work before I work out.
