The 5th annual "Bliss Brews and Ques" starts today. The event is free and takes place at Freedom Crossing, today from 5pm-10pm and tomorrow from 12pm-9pm.

According to the Freedom Crossing website:

Bliss, Brews and Que is the only Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned competition on a military installation as well as the official Texas State Championship for BBQ! This year, a record number of BBQ teams from all over the country will come to Fort Bliss to compete for $15,000 in prize money - our biggest award yet! The event is open to all and guests will enjoy two days full of great live music, food and beer tents, family entertainment and the world's best BBQ! There is no admission fee for this event and BBQ as well as other food and beverages are available for purchase.

For this particular event, no visitor pass is required if you enter via the Sheridan or Buffalo Soldier gates. For more info on entering Fort Bliss, click here.
